BI-WEEKLY WORKSHOPS FOR SINGLES
In addition to workshops, I hold regular 90-minute bi-weekly group meetings, where we continue to explore love's possiblilities.
These sessions build upon the groundwork laid out in the introductory workshop, covering these and other topics in greater depth. Here, you will be encouraged to explore the specific issues foiling your own romantic relationships. Eventually, via "emotional exercises," and with the feedback and support of others, you will master the skills needed tolove adn be loved in a healthy, uplifting way.
Each week, we strive for progress by analyzing what is and what is not working, and move towards positive change, in whatever measure you feel comfortable. All participants both support and learn from each other, and each member is encouraged to share his or her specific issues.
These meetings function not as a kaffee-klatch nor a place to bemoan your lousy love life or complain about "that loser" you are or were dating. They are geared to helping you overcome the roadblocks and concerns which stand in the way of your romantic success. In meeting regularly, with many of the same people, we begin to recognize unhealthy patterns of behavior, in ourselves as well as others.
If you are tired of failed relationships of love affairs which never even get off the ground, this is the way to address those issues which stand in the way of your happiness. If you are willing to do the work, which at times may be painful or difficult, your relationships will improve...guaranteed!
Together, we will deal with practical issues such as:
- Turning rejection, disappointment and heartbreak to your advantage (yes, it's possible!)
- Staving off depression during "lean" times
- Where and how to meet suitable potential partners
- Ridding yourself of excess emotional baggage (i.e. anger, bitterness, self-recriminations, self-doubt)
- Increasing self-confidence and overcoming shyness
- Building emotional self-respect, thereby increasing the respect with which others treat you
- Making yourself more appealing to the opposite sex (and understanding what really attracts others.)
- Changing your self-image, thus reflecting a better outer image
- Examining the reasons for choosing the "wrong" people
- How to recognize "right" and "wrong" potential mates
- Identifying self-defeating patterns and behavior
- Learning to set boundaries and draw lines in the sand
- Recognizing "hot buttons" and "hard circuit" behavior and rewiring them, if necessary
- Viewing relationships from the outside; seeing them objectively
- Letting go of the fears that keep you from loving and being loved
These sessions are helpful for both singles who are looking for relationships, as well as those who are already in relationships but don't quite know:
- How to handle various, emotionally-challenging situations
- What to make of/how to react to certain behavior on the part of a significant other
- how to bring things to the next level, taking the relationship from "casual" to "serious"
- when/if it's time to end things and move on
- how to stop walking on eggshells
- how to get what you need
I hope to see you there!
